Salzburg is compact, yet big enough to make you fall in love with this charming city. This compact city has everything you need to have a great time: a stunning Old City on its left bank, and a bustling New City on its right. One can easily navigate the city via different modes of transportation – be it tram or bicycle. However, the best way to explore the city is on foot. Be it taking a coffee break in a small coffee shop or capturing the beauty of the city through my Canon DSLR, I thoroughly enjoyed my sojourn. Salzburg is divided by the Salzach River, which is lined with medieval buildings on its left bank and 19th-century Neustadt on its right. From countless cafes to bars, there’s something for everyone! So if you want to visit Austria next time, make sure to include this little gem in your itinerary!
The following images prove that nature can be spectacular in any part of the world. As I always believe, if you explore new places, you will encounter with such unexpected beauty. The more you walk, the more you see. Hence I decided to head towards Fortress Hohensalzburg and the results are here. Which one is your favourite image ? Please let me know in the comments section.
I just returned from a short trip to the Austrian city of Salzburg. This trip was organized by the Austrian Embassy, New Delhi and it was part of a competition organized on their Facebook page. I have captured a number of images and it is not possible to include them in a single blog post. The first post of my trip is about Leopoldskron pond, which is not far away from the Old Town of Salzburg. Probably the best place in Salzburg to relax and immerse in the stunning views of the pond, where one can spot a number of wildlife creatures such as ducks and swans. Situated against the backdrop of the bewitching Leopoldskron Palace as well as Hohensalzburg Fortress, this picturesque pond is 650 meters long and 220 meters wide. The driver of my hop-on and hop-off bus service dropped me near the pond. I was mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the place and did not even notice how my half an hour passed. From there, I walked towards Hohensalzburg Fortress. I also spotted few anglers, who were soaking up the sun. More posts on Salzburg trip is coming up !
