Tree Top: Admiring Beauty Of Seafood

IMG_20160523_120148

Warning: The following article may tempt you to fall in love with seafood. 🙂

I was in Labuanj Bajo at the invitation of the Tourism Ministry of Indonesia. While one can find plenty of restaurants and street food-stalls in Labuan Bajo, Tree Top stands apart.

I had some very delicious food in this four-storey wooden building. When I reached this place, construction was underway and the owner of the restaurant told me that he was planning to extend this place.

Delicious food and a pleasant view of Labuan Bajo harbour, it is one of the best places in the area to relax and have good time. Fish, crab, lobster, squid, octopus – the restaurant provides plenty of options for seafood lovers. I tried several dishes, including baby octopus and liked them instantly.

One can also notice that the restaurant is full of interesting colourful artworks.

I recommend ordering your favourite food with chilled Bintnag. 🙂

The slogan “…smile please because you are at TREETOP!” proves that the owner Matheus wants his each and every customer to be happy.

And This Is My Moscow

Rainy weather and cloudy skies gave a cold welcome to me upon my arrival in Moscow.

But that did not dampen my spirit to explore this historic city. In just three days, I managed to cover a number of famous spots, including iconic Red Square. Stunning architecture and fascinating culture make Moscow a unique cosmopolitan city in the world.

From bar-hopping to clubbing, from shopping to capturing the beauty of the city, I did my best to make it a memorable as well as fun trip.

But what intrigued me was the lack of western travellers. Almost everywhere I found a lot of Chinese and Japanese tourists, taking selfies 🙂

What I liked most about the city: Bars and their lip-smacking foods (My favourite – Russian Salad). IMG_20160414_225759

Wide roads, big buildings and exceptionally stylish people. Even I found a cab driver very charming. 🙂

What I did not like: A big big communication gap between local people and travellers.

IMG_1978

I tried to communicate with local people but failed miserably due to lack of English knowledge. At the same time, a couple of people smiled at me, said ‘hello’ especially in bars. 😛

One recommended place – Izmailovsky Flea Market. You can find authentic Russian products, including Russian dolls and leather jackets, at cheaper rate, compared to other places.

IMG_1999

What I missed: Moscow’s iconic metro stations as most of the time I travelled by taxis. 😦

Love to party? – Head to Bolotnaya Naberezhnaya area, where you can find a plethora of nightclubs there, but I opted for RED.

Recommended drink Khortytsa Ice Vodka (smooth and sweet)

So this is Moscow. Accept it as it is and you will like it the way I liked it 🙂

PS:– I booked my Moscow trip with Visit Russia and I must say they are very good at managing a trip. Highly recommended.

An Introduction To Komodo National Park

If you are a fan of wildlife then there is a strong possibility that you will like Komodo National Park, which was recognised by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites in 1991.

Located between Sumbawa and Flores, the park is home to world’s largest and also one of the oldest living lizards – the Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis). They can only be found in the Komodo National Park as well as on the islands of Rinca, Nusa Kode, and Gili Motang. However, it is a mystery why these lizards are only found in the above-mentioned places.

I was lucky to witness not just one but four Komodos as my guide told me that it was not easy to spot them every day. While the male one was reticent, the female dragon was quite aggressive.

The guide told me that the park is home to around 2,000 Komodo dragons. Apart from dragons, you can find a variety of birds, tropical plants and wild orchids.

How to reach Komodo National Park: Hire a boat from Labuan Bajo harbour. It will take approximately two hours to reach there. Guides are also available there for your assistance. Just make sure you pay attention to their instructions. There are many tour operators in Labuan Bajo, who can arrange a trip for you.

Don’t worry about the food and accommodation, as you can find plenty of them for every kind of traveller in Labuan Bajo.
