How To Explore Langkawi’s Eagle Square

Malaysia’s Langkawi is replete with splendid spots. One of them is Eagle Square, which is also known as Dataran Lang. It is a man-made structure, which is the symbol of Langkawi.
The massive sculpture of an eagle poised to take flight is definitely eye-catching and absolutely stunning. The 12 meter tall sculpture at Eagle Square attracts hundreds of tourists everyday, thanks to its amazing design. One of the iconic structures of Langkawi, the statue is surrounded by waters and bridges that provide mesmerizing views to tourists. The massive eagle sculpture greets everyone who comes to Kuah by ferry. The afternoon here could be too hot. So it is advisable to visit the place either in the morning or evening. As I was staying in Tubotel hostel, I rented a taxi and reached the place along with my friend. After spending 40 minutes there, I returned to my hostel. It is a beautiful place, which I recommend you to visit.

Capturing Hidden Beauty Of Kuala Lumpur

When it comes to photography, I do not have any specific agenda. I do not have any specific rule. I just keep clicking as long as the subject appeals to me. Some turn out to be good, while some bad. How about you ? Do you follow certain rules to get a perfect shot ? These images were from my earlier trip to Kuala Lumpur. Currently, I am using Canon 750D and Mi A3. How about you ?

I am back with another article on Malaysia. This time famous Batu Caves. It is a limestone hill consist of three major caves and a number of smaller ones.

Dedicated to Lord Murugan, this vibrant temple has a series of caves and cave temples. It is believed that the caves are said to be around 400 million years old.

The largest and most popular cavern in Batu Caves is Cathedral Cave, which has a number of Hindu shrines beneath its 100-metre-high arched ceiling. One can spot two other cave temples at the foot of Batu Hill – the Art Gallery Cave and Museum Cave . These two temples have a number of Hindu statues and paintings.

One has to climb up the 272 steps to reach the top of the caves. The famous Murugan Statue is located at the foot of the Cave. The 42.7 meter statue is the tallest statue in Malaysia.

My Precious Moments In Langkawi

Visit to Langkawi is incomplete without a trip to the famous Sky Bridge. This was exactly what I felt when I reached there. Situated at 660 metres above sea level at the peak of Gunung Mat Cincang on Pulau Langkawi, this spectacular bridge, surrounded by vast and thick forests, is 125 metres long, and 1.8 metres wide.
Visitors first have to take the Langkawi Cable Car to the top station and then they are required to use an inclined lift called SkyGlide to reach the bridge.
It is believed that around USD 1.2 million was spent on the construction of the mega structure, which is suspended by eight cables from an 81.5m high single pylon. I spent around two hours there due to
Me and my friend hired a taxi from our hostel to reach this place, using Malaysia’s popular taxi sharing app Grab.

Penang’s Famous Street Art – Part 2

I hope you enjoyed the first part of Penang. Now comes to the second part. This set of images of George Town is bound to fuel your wanderlust. Probably vibrant street art was one of the key reasons why I paid a trip to the Malaysian state . With the help of a map I explored most of the famous graffiti/murals of George Town without much problem. Although I had to skip some street art due to lack of time. Every 20 minutes, I used to take a small beer break due to hot and humid weather. It was a short and sweet trip to Penang. I just wish I could have stayed a little longer there.

Vibrant Penang – Part 1

Penang Island’s George Town is probably the most vibrant city of Malayisa. A trip to Malaysia is incomplete without a visit to George Town. This capital city is home to hundreds of cute cafes, bars and restaurants. Famous for its unique street food, George Town has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And this is where you will find a lot of graffiti and murals, which lure thousands of travelers to this city. And to be honest, I explored the city randomly. Beer and street food made the trip memorable. Have you been to this part of Malaysia ?

Hostel Review – Tubotel

During a short getaway to Langalawi, I stayed at a beautiful hostel Tubotel, which was highly recommended by various travel forums. Located on Sungai Chenang (Chenang River), Tubotel provides breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset.

Their barrel-like rooms, made of huge drainage pipes, are vibrant and colorful. As it was off season, I was lucky to get an entire room for myself. Staff there are very courteous and helpful. Tubotel has a full-fledged bar and there is also provision for private rooms. I must say till now, one of the best hostels I have ever stayed.
