A Tour Of Füssen

Note – I won a travel contest organized by Lufthansa India on their Facebook page. They provided me free flight tickets – Delhi-Munich-Delhi. So I made a trip to Germany, covering Fussen, Munich, Berlin, Nuremberg and Ingolstadt during my 11 day trip. #visitgermany #germanytourism

Let’s talk about the Bavarian town of Füssen, which is situated on the banks of the Lech River, which flows into the Forggensee lake. The charming town is often called the romantic soul of Bavaria.
The town is dotted with beautiful homes, numerous cafes and bars. I liked the place very much because of its peaceful atmosphere. Calmness prevailed everywhere. I selected Fussen because of its closeness to world famous Neuschwanstein castle. There are many things to enjoy in Fussen and adjoining areas. However, my travel plans were curtailed by rain and wind, so I didn’t get to see everything that Fsssen has to offer. So I just focused on one major tourist attraction – Neuschwanstein castle. I tried my best to explore the inner parts of the town, wandering in the colorful narrow streets. And don’t forget to enjoy the breathtaking view of Forggensee lake. If you are done with sight-seeing, then try to focus on shopping, food and drink and you won’t be disappointed.

There is no dearth of accommodation in this town but it is advisable to book in advance if you are planning to visit in Summer and festival periods.
And how did I reach the town ? Pretty easy. You can get a train from Munich Airport to Munich Central station. From central station to Buchloe. And from Buchloe to Fussen. It is strongly advised to book the train tickets in advance.
