Hellbrunn Palace – A Spectacular Delight

If you’re visiting Salzburg, don’t miss out on the chance to visit Hellbrunn Palace & Trick Fountains. The massive palace was built by Prince-Archbishop Markus Sittikus von Hohenems in 1613-19.
Situated in the South of Salzburg, this spectacular palace was only meant for use as a day residence in summer, as the Archbishop usually returned to Salzburg in the evening. The permanent interactive exhibition “GrandDelight – The unexpected world of Markus Sittikus” depicts numerous aspects of the castle and its history, which one can enjoy through an audio guide. One of the major attractions of this Palace is Trick Fountains, which consist of several water automats, grottos, and fountains. The main objective of Sittikus was to entertain his guests through these Fountains. One can enjoy the Fountains thoroughly with the help of an audio guide. I used a ‘Hop-On, Hop-Off’ bus from the city’s downtown to reach this place.

Vibrant Penang – Part 1

Penang Island’s George Town is probably the most vibrant city of Malayisa. A trip to Malaysia is incomplete without a visit to George Town. This capital city is home to hundreds of cute cafes, bars and restaurants. Famous for its unique street food, George Town has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And this is where you will find a lot of graffiti and murals, which lure thousands of travelers to this city. And to be honest, I explored the city randomly. Beer and street food made the trip memorable. Have you been to this part of Malaysia ?

Few Hours At Pashupatinath Temple

It is said that Nepal’s history and culture lie in its temples. So when I was in Nepal, a visit to Pausnpatinath temple was on top of my list.
Dating back to the 5th century, Pausnpatinath temple is the oldest Hindu temple in the country and is an UNESCO heritage site. Nepal’s national deity – Lord Pashupatinath or Lord Shiva – is worshiped here. Located on the banks of Bagmati river in the eastern part of Kathmandu city, this temple is considered to be a masterpiece of Hindu architecture.
I hired a taxi from Thamel and it took me not more than 10 minutes to reach this iconic temple. The entire temple is beautifully carved with wooden rafters and its roofs are made up of gold and copper plating. I would have loved to scan each and every detail minutely but there was some festival going on. The temple was full of colorful devotees and a lot of rituals were being performed. It was perhaps not the best day to see the majestic grandeur of this temple, but it still was a wonderful experience!

Few Hours At Patan Durbar Square

Kathmandu Valley’s famous Patan durbar square, which was severely damaged by the deadly earthquake in 2015, is a must see place if you are in the city of Lalitpur.
Located at the center of the city, the square is home to a number of beautiful temples and idols that are guaranteed to turn you into cultural lovers.
Some of the important temples are Krishna Mandir, Bhimsen Temple and Vishwanath Temple. Thanks to its stunning architecture, this place is frequented by tourists and locals alike. No wonder, it is one of the UNESCO world Heritage Sites along with two other darbars – Kathmandu Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The whole area is filled with colorful cafes, numerous art galleries and guest houses. I spent few hours there, gazing aimlessly at the abundant beauty of the place.

What comes to your mind when you think of Indonesia? Pristine beaches and crystal clear water?  Well Indonesia is not all about awesome beaches, its rich tradition and culture make it even more alluring to travelers.

The dance performance is carried out by two male fighters, one of them come from another village to participate in the fight. Armed with whip, shield, masks, and sticks, these fighters show their skill amidst  shouting from spectators, who encourage them to show more lively performance.
