Lansdowne – A Breath Of Fresh Air

This year, I turned 35 (though for me age is just a number). 🙂

I wanted to celebrate my birthday in a different way by traveling to a place where I can play with nature.

I always love to explore tiny and unknown places and Lansdowne turned out to be just perfect.

Situated in Pauri Garhwal district in Uttarakhand, this is a kind of place where every traveler like me wants to embrace it.

The moment I landed there, I realized what I was missing in smoky Delhi – a cool and calm environment. I was smiling because I knew it was going to be a memorable trip.

Surrounded by thick oak and blue pine forests, Lansdowne is home to many high-end resorts, but I opted for a small hotel.

My day started with lots of enquiries with a local person and I found that there is not much to explore in the quite hill station.

Bhulla Tal is one place, which I really liked. Just sit and read a novel there and I am sure it will make your day.

But what did I actually do in this cantonment town ? Hiking and hiking and so I recommend this place to anyone who is fond of hiking.  And hiking completed my trip.

Surprisingly, I did not find many tourists here.

I will strongly recommend a visit to this cantonment town to all women travelers. Be sure of 100% safety.

Small town, small article. 🙂 The End !!!

Dhanaulti – Where Tranquility Rules !

IMG_1323

There goes without saying that Uttarakhand is one of India’s most beautiful states with plenty to offer.
And Dhanaulti is one of the destinations that is bound to charm you.

If you are looking for peace and tranquility amidst dense forest, then Dhanaulti is the perfect destination. Not far away from the national capital of New Delhi (325 km), the tiny hill station provides breathtaking landscapes for which tourists especially from North India come to enjoy. Situated at an altitude of 2,286metre, the hill station is quite popular among tourists, thanks to dense forests of Deodar, Rhododendron and Oak.

Is this a special place to plan a quite holiday? Yes! Being a nature lover, I really enjoyed the place. The summer could be harsh in Dhanulti, but in night the weather turns pleasant and cool. In winter, one can experience chilling weather as the mercury goes down to -1°C.

Thanks to the Uttarakhand government’s initiative, a number of eco huts have been constructed for tourists. People can enjoy various adventurous activities here.
Here, tour operators provide tents, which are quite nice (reasonable price).
One can also enjoy different adventurous activities, which the tour operators provide.

The place has also two eco-parks, which should definitely be included in your travel list. Great for photography ! These eco-parks also provide various activities ranging from zipping to hiking. A wholesome entertainment place for family.

And the rest, I will leave it to you to explore 🙂
