A Photo Essay On Kyrgyzstan

Reminiscing my earlier travel to Kyrgyzstan, where I spent only four days due to my hectic schedule. Notwithstanding, I managed to click hundreds of images, be it Issyk-Kul lake or capital Bishkek. Quite a cheap destination to explore. Russian is widely spoken. So it is better to learn few basic Russian words before travelling to this Central Asian country. Try to give at least 10 days to this beautiful country.

A Quick Getaway To Fort Kochi

Fort Kochi is known for its enchanting beauty. I completely fell in love with the place during my short trip in September. You can either hire a bicycle or motorbike to explore the place but I covered most of the tourists spots by walking as the weather was pleasant. Due to off season the places were not swarmed with tourists and their large selfie-sticks, which helped me enjoy the place without any deviations.
In Fort Kochi, I stayed in Crystal Maze Homestay which I highly recommend to include in your itinerary. But for those who are planning to pick some local artifacts I suggest not to visit in September as most of the shops were closed due to off season.

Make sure you visit both the temple and the museum. It is really worth it.

I skipped many other tourist spots due to lack of time. Hopefully, next time I will be able to cover them all.

How To Spend Few Hours At Goa’s Cabo De Rama Fort

IMG_0021

My Goa sojourn took me to another destination – the Cabo De Rama Fort, which has been held by various rulers in the past.
Situated at Canacona taluka in southern Goa, this place is a major attraction for tourists.
The fort is surrounded by a moat and gatehouse. One can notice big and rusty cannons lying there. This fort also has a small chapel, which is still visited by devotees. When I reached the place I did not find a single tourist. The best part of this place is one can enjoy spectacular views of the Arabian sea from the western side of the fortress.

One can easily reach this place by either hiring a car or taxi. I used a motorbike to reach this place from Agonda.

You can read more about this fort here

download

International tourist arrivals worldwide grew by 4% between January and June 2016 compared to the same period last year. Destinations worldwide received 561 million international tourists (overnight visitors), 21 million more than in 2015, according to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer.

Asia and the Pacific demonstrated renewed strength this first half of 2016, receiving 9% more international arrivals, the highest growth across world regions. In the Americas, international arrivals increased by 4%, led by Central America and South America. Europe (+3%) showed mixed results, with solid growth in many destinations offset by weaker performance in others. In Africa (+5%), Sub-Saharan destinations rebounded strongly, while North Africa continued to report weak results. Limited data for the Middle East points to an estimated decrease of 9% in international arrivals this six-month period, though results vary from destination to destination.

How do we travel ?

Does it really matter to us ? I don’t think so. What really matters to us is visiting a new place and rediscovering it. I am not a regular traveler, but whenever I am free from my busy schedule and my pocket allows I travel to a new place.

It hardly matters to me whether it is overcrowded or expensive. I have seen many passionate travelers who love to visit less explored places. I truly appreciate that but one thing I don’t like is when they don’t recommend a place which is either expensive or overcrowded. Paris is expensive and overcrowded. So is London. Does it mean that we will never visit these cities in our lives? My answer is a straight ‘NO’. I love crowded places be it Tokyo or Mumbai. I love to see new faces. Their culture. Their smile. Their work. Their happiness. Let people push me. I really don’t care.

Another point:

Many travelers loathe reading travel magazines before their journey. As if it is a crime to read these magazine. I don’t know why. But I really love to search blogs and read magazines before traveling to my next destination. It gives me a different kind of confidence. It enriches my knowledge about that particular place. I recommend everyone to research thoroughly before leaving for their destination. After all, it is a matter of making your journeys memorable and worthy. 🙂
