Bhutan To Reopen Borders In September

The Kingdom of Bhutan will be reopening its borders to tourists from September 23, 2022. But it will do so with a renewed focus on the sustainability of the sector, the Tourism Council Of Bhutan said in a press release.

The tourism sector will be undergoing a revamp, which will focus on three key areas. They are infrastructure and services, the travel experiences of tourists, and the sector’s environmental impact.

“COVID-19 has allowed us to reset – to rethink how the sector can be best structured and operated, so that it not only benefits Bhutan economically, but socially as well, while keeping carbon footprints low. In the long run, our goal is to create high-value experiences for visitors, and well-paying and professional jobs for our citizens,” said Dr. Tandi Dorji, Foreign Minister of Bhutan and Chairperson of the Tourism Council of Bhutan.

A Photo Essay On Kyrgyzstan

Reminiscing my earlier travel to Kyrgyzstan, where I spent only four days due to my hectic schedule. Notwithstanding, I managed to click hundreds of images, be it Issyk-Kul lake or capital Bishkek. Quite a cheap destination to explore. Russian is widely spoken. So it is better to learn few basic Russian words before travelling to this Central Asian country. Try to give at least 10 days to this beautiful country.

Goa’s Gorgeous Butterfly Beach

It was my birthday and I wanted to explore a lesser-known beach of Goa. A tea-stall owner, who served me copious amount of tea in the morning, suggested me to visit Butterfly beach, which I instantly accepted. Some fisherman in Agonda offered to take me around that beach for a sum of Rs2,000, which I politely declined. My good Samaritan, the tea-stall owner, guided me to reach that place. It was May – a typical hot and humid Goan weather.

I rented a scooter and set off my journey towards the beach. After driving 1-2 kilometres on a deserted stretch with no one in sight except vast forests as company, I began to have fear of losing my way and exactly that happened. I lost my path. With no sign boards and people to assist in finding direction, this was bound to happen.

The roads were terrible. While randomly driving, I saw a jeep full of people. I told them about my destination and sought their help in finding my way. They happily asked me to follow them, as they too were heading towards the same beach.

After driving few kilometres I finally reached the beach. The turquoise water quickly erased my pain caused due to my tortuous drive to the beach. Other than me there were couple of travelers, who soon left the area. I was left all alone, lounging on the beach and soaking up the sun, which was nothing less than pure bliss. After spending around 1-1/2 hours, I left the place. While returning I took a wrong turn and again lost the path. However, somehow I managed to reach my hotel.

Sri Lanka Through My Mobile

It is not possible for me to carry my bulky DSLR every time. And in many tricky situations, I completely rely upon my mobile – Mi4, which has become a reliable travel tool for me over a period of many years. I had clicked various pictures of beautiful spots of Colombo from moving buses. So the snaps may fall short on picture quality, but I am confident the images will still catch your attention.

IATA Forecasts Passenger Demand to Double Over 20 Years

passenger-release

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) expects 7.2 billion passengers to travel in 2035, a near doubling of the 3.8 billion air travelers in 2016. The prediction is based on a 3.7% annual Compound Average Growth Rate (CAGR) noted in the release of the latest update to the association’s 20-Year Air Passenger Forecast.

“People want to fly. Demand for air travel over the next two decades is set to double. Enabling people and nations to trade, explore, and share the benefits of innovation and economic prosperity makes our world a better place,” said Alexandre de Juniac, IATA’s Director General and CEO.
